It's time I come clean. It's been eating me up inside.
I'm having an affair.
With a new blogsite. I'm sorry Nest, Xanga, and LiveJournal! You all just aren't quite as beautiful/creative/customizable as Blogger.
Livejournal, we've had some good times together. I'm so sorry that it had to come to this. Your beautiful templates are lovely and easy to work with, but I was driven to the dark side.
Xanga, darling. We've had the longest amount of time together. Our years have meant so much to me. It's me, not you, I swear.....well, actually, I'm lying again. It's just you. You're not easy enough to make pretty, my dear. Granted, I love how easy you are to work with, and you've brought me so many zillions of friends, but it's time I move on.
Nest, I'll still write in you, I promise! I just needed something fresh, and you just don't let me do anything, and make it all so much harder than my dear habit can take.
With the fondest regards and happiest of memories,
Amber Renee (AvaJoy)

Hi Amber! Welcome to the "dark side" of the blogisphere, LOL! Thanks for all the comments you've left on my blog over the last few days. They were very encouraging and much appreciated.
As for modifying the Blogger template, I'm afraid that I have no easy answer :( It took several months of fooling around and trial & error to get mine where I wanted it. To customize my template, I started with the simplest default Blogger had and little by little added in graphics, extra links, etc. Blogger has a *few* bits and pieces on how to do things like add in/modify links, and for the rest I just googled CSS style sheets (which the templates use) or HTML (which is also used). My headers are graphics I made in photoshop and physically getting them into the blog was just like putting any graphic on any webpage/blog entry. Getting them the right size/shape/alignment was trickier. Definitely an exercise in patience which kept me up late on many a non-school night :)
I started out with the Black Minima template (although you wouldn't know it now) because the code was much easier to follow than some of the fancier ones.
Amber, EST is in there, but it is well hidden. Keep scrolling until you get to [UTC -05:00] EST...and there you go.
Have a wonderful Friday!
Christina
you're kinda ridiculously obsessed with all of this stuff, maybe you should get yourself checked out...
