I Dig My Toes Into the Sand...

I know, I know. Long time for me not to post anything. There have been lots of things going on though, most of which I don't want to share, but some I do.

I lost my job/quit Saturday night, through very little or no fault of my own. It's too long to explain, but let's just say that the owner has favorites and since my husband quit working there part-time last fall, I haven't been one of hers. She's been trying to get me out for ages, and I just haven't left until now. The way Saturday night was going, I was either going to quit or get fired, I knew it upfront with the things that have been going on lately. So, problems occurred, and it was basically decided that "I would be better off somewhere else", to which I wholeheartedly agree.

I think I have a couple of job offers lined up now already, so I'm not entirely freaking out yet. Transportation is still a serious issue though, as we currently only have one working car - if you can call it working. It seriously needs a new engine, and the broken-down car is broken down because of a recall, and that needs to be fixed ASAP.

Chad and I have basically decided that if Portsmouth Fire Department doesn't hire him (they make their decisions in about two weeks) that he is joining the military - likely Air Force to be a medic. This scares me more than anything else in my entire life, ever. Thus - I'm praying for Portsmouth to come through, QUICKLY. I would give up everything I own to keep my husband from going into the military, but he really wants this and as his wife I must support his decisions. It means security, though..which I can't deny...among many other things.

I can't believe I nearly forgot the important things! Chad got his results back a couple of days ago about his EMT state exam that he took last weekend....HE PASSED! He is now an official North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician. :) I am so proud of him! He graduated from the Fire Academy a week and a half or so ago, as well...exciting stuff! I'll have to post pictures of him in his studly uniform later, as well.

I think I need to go see a doctor, in other news. I've been terribly dizzy since last Sunday (ten days ago), nauseous, and threw up at work last week. I've got some other odd symptoms that I won't share with the general public :) but I took a pregnancy test on Saturday (it's been about five weeks since my last period...kind of normal for me, I think) and it turned out negative. Now it was a generic little thing, do you girls think I should re-test or just go see a doctor - since it could be something else entirely? Whenever I turn my head too quickly, change positions (lay down from sitting up, turn to a different side while laying down, etc.) I get dizzy so badly, and it's awful. I don't know what to think. I'm just frustrated, and getting really aggravated with feeling bad 24 hours a day.

Well, I think that's it on the news...hope everyone's having a better day than I am! :) heh heh. God bless you all.

I dig my toes into the sand
The ocean looks like a thousand diamonds strewn across a blue blanket
I lean against the wind
Pretend that I am weightless
And in this moment, I am happy
I wish you were here
I wish you were here.

Amber,

I'm sorry to hear about what happened with your job, but it sounds like perhaps it wasn't the best place for you. I'll keep my fingers (and toes) crossed that a new opportunity comes up soon. I'll also be praying that Portsmouth comes through for you and Chad as well. (And I'm so happy to hear that he passed his test!)

As for the other issue, I would probably head off to the doctor's, as it seems pretty unlikely that at this stage a home pregnancy test would give a negative result. Not out of the question, but it seems that it might be something else.

Take care, and I'll talk to you again soon.

It was good to catch up with you and hear all that's going on. It sounds like this week has been filled with ups and downs. Sorry about your job, but it sounds like you're glad you did so. I hope your job prospects work out. Keep us posted.
Congrats on Chad passing his test! That is so great.Hopefully that means he'll be a full time firefighter really soon!
I hope you're feeling better. Dizziness is never a good thing!
Have a good weekend and keep us posted.
